Thadobati singing bowl
Among of the oldest bowl. Hammered surfaces & engraved marking worn smooth over the years. They often the first bowl a person buys, their quality varies considerably and good ones are hard to find.
Characteristic:
* Straight high-sided walls
* Wide flat bottom
* Diameter of which is sometimes only a little less than the rim
* Walls can be thick or thin
Decoration:
* Minimal
* A row or two of punched dots or dashes below the rim on the external wall, some concentric circles radiating from the centre of the basin.
* Some old bowls carry dot-punched inscriptions or dedications, & these add both interest and value.
